O2 Xda Atom

If you wanna have fun with your, as well as have some envious peeks glance your way, you’ve got to get the new O2 Xda Atom, a certainly eye-catching dandy for a phone. Have it in your repertoire of gadgets and you’ll surely be king of the hill with this one.

However, he O2 Xda Atom is merely an improved replica of its predecessor Xda II Mini. In fact, the similarities between both are so obvious its even hard to tell the two apart. Of course, to make the distinction easier for you, you can refer to the conspicuous switch from the old silver style scheme to the newer in an all-black monotone. Save form that, the differences are not as conspicuous.

Also, the new Atom now is smaller than its predecessor Xda II Mini. It is measured at the meager dimensions of 102 x 58 x 18.5mm versus the Mini's 108 x 58 x 18.1mm. However, such change in size is more felt by the paper than by the hand. The statistics look good on paper though when in actual application, the difference in size is barely felt and differed by the hand. You can never really intuitively feel the size difference without having to put them side to side for a closer inspection.

The O2 Xda Atom looks like your standard pretty O2 smartphones. This means that the phone has a mini five-way selector located at the base, which is surrounded by the buttons for call accept and decline. There are also dedicated buttons for the Start function program as well as an integrated O2 Media Plus application. The display monitor of O2 Xda Atom is sized at 2.7" TFT LCD touchscreen with a resolution of 240 x 320 pixels. To keep your stylus in a good position, there is a small stylus slot neatly tucked in the top right of the phone. The O2 Xda Atom also houses a slot for the MiniSD memory card which is strategically located just around the phone's power button. At the rear you can also locate the Atom's 2-megapixel CMOS camera and a chic strobe flash. Its other features also include a 416 MHz Intel processor; 64MB ROM; 128MB RAM; Windows Mobile 5.0 (operating system); Windows Media Player Mobile 10; O2 Media Plus; USB; EDGE; Onboard flash; Video recording; Video playback; and a Built-in FM radio.

Like the Xda Mini the O2 Xda Atom’s biggest appeal to gadget crazy folks like us lie in its being so awfully cute. At the very least, when your holding an Atom, because it's a very small smartphone, you won't feel like you're holding an ancient transistor radio up against your ear when the significant people chooses to chat for awhile. Although, looking at the downside of its cute features, you’ll also get a cute interface, screen sizes, virtual keyboards, and everything else as well. Because it is so much smaller, you’ll have to struggle to literally get your hand dancing to a functional tune on this one. It is even more challenging than a PDA and its other bigger sized cousins. But if you want it that way, be our guest. Its okay enough for jotting small notes or messages but I personally give up when I tried it in sending long e-mails. Especially because during that time, that long reply was very important and I have to send the response in a hurry, I simply gave up midway.
